Acupuncture Bad Reichenhall

What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and is a many
Thousands of years old proven treatment method. According to the understanding of Chinese medicine, the human organism is permeated by a dense network of pathways, so-called meridians. Through these flows the Qi, the life energy, with the forces YIN and YANG.
When there is an imbalance of these forces, our body falls ill - we have physical and mental complaints.

Acupuncture involves the insertion of fine needles at specific points on the surface of the body to influence the flow of qi. Both too much and too little energy can be balanced.

The success of acupuncture has been shown in many studies. We deliberately always use acupuncture in our practice to accompany or complement classical conventional medicine. Therefore, you do not have to choose between conventional medicine and acupuncture, but can benefit from the advantages of both fields at the same time. If you are unsure whether acupuncture is a suitable therapy method for your complaints, please feel free to contact us.

What is acupuncture used for?

Typical applications:

  • Acute and chronic pain:
    • Back pain
    • Knee pain
    • Headache, e.g. migraine
  • Allergies (hay fever, asthma)
  • frequent recurrence of colds
  • and much more.

What are the side effects of acupuncture?

Acupuncture is effective and largely free of side effects. Needle pain and superficial bleeding may occur as undesirable side effects, but these are usually not a major problem.

How do the acupuncture treatments proceed?

Acupuncture treatments can be repeated as often as desired. In most cases, an effect already occurs in the first treatments. The total number and frequency of treatment sessions varies depending on the disease. Often a total of 6-10 sessions are necessary, with 1-2 treatments per week. Mostly 6-14 needles are used for treatment. Only high-quality sterile disposable needles are used. The needle insertion itself is usually only slightly painful, usually similar to plucking a body hair. The lying time of about 20-30 minutes is often experienced as very pleasant and relaxing.
Important: Allow at least one hour for the first appointment, as a detailed medical history will be taken first. You should also not drive immediately after the acupuncture treatment, as this can occasionally lead to circulatory reactions. You are welcome to stay in our waiting room for a few minutes after the treatment. Heavy physical exertion should be avoided afterwards.

Who pays for acupuncture?

For patients with statutory health insurance, the acupuncture treatments offered are so-called IgeL (individual health services), which are generally not reimbursed by statutory health insurance.
Ask your health insurance company whether (partial) reimbursement of treatment costs is possible.

Private health insurances usually reimburse acupuncture in the context of pain treatment, e.g. for headaches, joint and spinal pain. For other complaints, it is advisable to contact the health insurance company beforehand.

What are the costs?

Private patients are billed as usual according to GOÄ.

For patients with statutory health insurance, acupuncture in our practice is only possible as an individual health service (IGeL self-payer). The costs are approx. 40 euros per session.
